Some Days are Overwhelming

An Artist’s Journal: 7 October 2020

I can multitask like a ninja. But some days I am overwhelmed, frozen, and want to go back to bed.

I do go back to bed, but not for as long as I used to. When I was in college I was often convinced that I was sick. I'd stay in bed for days. I was hiding, embarrassed at not following through on everything. And frustrated at not having the answers.

The world seems increasingly frustrating, and some days it gets to me. Other days the fog in my head lifts and everything is so clear that I make ten-thousand plans. Not all those plans are going to stick, and that is okay.

Today I keep struggling. I'm writing this super short journal post, and I'm thinking I should spend less time on Facebook. I'm not sure if that is realistic for me. It is realistic for artist Gwenn Seemel, who is leaving FB and IG behind. And, in support of her brave efforts (and her bright inspiring art), I'm leaving a link to her website here for you. I hope you take a look and consider investing in her artwork.
