Naming the Painting - Alone Yet Not Alone

An Artist’s Journal: 2 August 2020

This spring I painted a sunset as part of a FB group challenge, and I named it, Alone Yet Not Alone.

Right around the time I painted this sunset, a memory came across my FB feed of Sam Robson singing the Hymn Alone Yet Not Alone. I love his arrangements.

Under the circumstances of the spring stay-at-home order, Alone Yet Not Alone seemed like a fitting title for my painting.

Alone Yet Not Alone, by Tia Sunshine, Framed

The original sold very quickly, and is now framed (seen here) in its new home!

I decided to have limited edition prints made, and they have been very popular. As of now, I have a few available. If my online shop isn’t open, feel free to email me at hello@tiasunshine.art

I also had some cards made. I sent the cards out to my Studio Update subscribers by snail mail. If you are interested in special offers and occassional snail mail, join my email list below. I am hoping to get more cards printed locally for a better quality to put in my shop.

This is the only landscape in my portfolio, and the resource image was not my own. It was provided for the group challenge online. I do have many photos of my own that I would love to paint in this similar style. But, I do tend to focus on faces and figures. I might try my hand at some plein-air. Watch my IG for current work in real time.

If you are interested in my artwork, I recommend becoming a Studio Update member.
